The word “kanchou” (written as 浣腸 with kanji characters) means “to administer an enema.” When written with katakana characters (カンチョー), it refers to a game that young children play on each other ― similar to wedgies or goosings. You clasp you hands together so that both of your index fingers are pointed out ― like a gun ― and try to insert them into someone’s anal region when they’re not looking. The general region is good enough but “bonus points” are awarded if you can get them in the shooter (the bull’s eye). There’s a gameshow devoted to this actually, where celebrities kanchou random people on the street.

I am happy to say that I’m a kanchou virgin and plan on staying that way for as long as possible. When I go to Japan, I will make sure that nobody is ever behind me!
